Balrog Apparel
Branding a dropship streetwear brand
Balrog Apparel was created as an alternative to the overproduced, overstocked and throwaway habits of modern fashion. An independent clothing brand built around comfort, affordability and responsible production, Balrog uses a made-to-order model to create only what customers actually buy. Think Creative helped built the brand from the ground up, developing the identity, packaging, product graphics, marketing content and Shopify e-commerce website.

The name called for something bold. Balrog is inspired by a larger-than-life mythical creature, so the identity needed weight, character and a little bit of awkward energy. We created Balrog Grotesk, a custom grotesque typeface with irregular forms and exaggerated ink traps. It gives the brand a distinctive typographic voice across the logo, clothing labels, packaging, social content and campaign materials.
The apparel range combines digital illustration with vintage-inspired type treatments, creating graphic tees, embroidered hoodies, sweatshirts and accessories that feel clean, wearable and full of personality. Each design was created to stand apart in a crowded streetwear market while still feeling aligned to the brand’s slower, more responsible way of producing clothing.
The business model shaped the digital experience. We built the Shopify website around made-to-order fulfilment, allowing products to be created after purchase and shipped directly from UK factories to the customer. This helped reduce waste, avoid excess stock and support a leaner, more sustainable e-commerce model.
The wider identity brings together bold colour, expressive typography, clean product layouts and retail-focused social content. Designed to launch, sell and scale, Balrog Apparel became a complete independent fashion brand with a sharper point of view: streetwear with less waste and more character.
