Quizamid

A fresh visual identity for a fast-growing trivia game

Poptacular approached us to refresh the identity of their new board game, Quizamid. After a successful sold out test run with a prototype board, they asked us to upgrade the board’s visual identity to give the game a professional, industry standard aesthetic. The challenge of this project was creating the sense of depth, detail and vibrance on the board, without losing the usability of the game while maintaining a consistency over a range of very bespoke assets. To solve this, we created 3D models of all the assets in CGI software, giving us the ability to fine tune the aesthetic enhancements within the functional gameplay.

Keeping the core assets the same, we enhanced the overall look and feel by adding depth and dimension with soft shadows, rounded edges, introducing subtle gradients into the palette and an icon based background texture – which also formed subtle hints of some of the board’s answers. Starting with the logotype, we rolled out these additions to the popup board, cardholders, whiteboards and box. Then carried over these elements onto the new Quizamid Mini board, a board almost half the size of the original for travel purposes.
